Try God Group February elections—
service position descriptions

Elections are held during the February Try God Group business meeting. It's suggested that all home group members attend and participate in service to the group.

Responsibility Declaration "I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that: I am responsible."

GROUP LEVEL POSITIONS

CHAIR
One-Year Term (Mar-Feb)
Responsible for facilitating steering committee meeting, compiling agenda, emailing agenda to members, Webmaster and recording secretary, and facilitating business meeting. Serves as a voting member only in the event of a tie.
One-year sobriety req.

CO-CHAIR
One-Year Term (Mar-Feb)
Responsible for assisting Chair as needed. Transitions to Chair position at end of term. Also has same duties as Member at large.
One-year sobriety req.

RECORDING SECRETARY
One-Year Term (Mar-Feb)
Responsible for taking accurate notes of discussion from all TGG business and steering committee meetings, recording discussions, motions, and actions taken by group conscious. Also, communicates information to Webmaster. Collects reports from Treasurer, EVI, and GSR Representatives, and files them in TGG meeting binder.

MEMBER AT LARGE (3 positions)
One-Year Term (Mar-Feb)
Responsible for attending steering committee meetings as a voting member to address housekeeping issues and compile agenda motions for
the business meetings.
Six-month sobriety req.

ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR (2 positions)
Staggered One-Year Terms (1 position Sept-Aug and 1 position Mar-Feb)
Coordinate fun activities for the group. Ensure Rule 62 is strictly enforced.

DIVERTER COORDINATOR ALTERNATE
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Assists Diverter Coordinatoras needed, or when coordinator is unavailable.
One-year sobriety req.

ARCHIVIST
Length of commitment and position description yet to be determined.

SUNDAY NIGHT SET UP, REFRESHMENTS
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for set up and take down of chairs, and for purchasing cookies, making coffee, tea, and cleaning up after the meeting.

MONDAY NIGHT GREETER
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for welcoming every person who comes through the door prior to the meeting (6:40-7:00pm).
No sobriety req.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BEGINNER'S MEETING SECRETARY
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for finding one speaker for each meeting to share for 10-15 minutes, setting up literature and Chairing the meeting as per the
meeting format, choosing topic if necessary.
One-year sobriety req.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SET UP (2 positions)
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for set up and take down of chairs and tables, and also for set up and take down of refreshment area (making coffee, cleaning urns,
etc.) Also responsible for purchasing refreshment supplies.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT GREETER (2 positions)
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for welcoming every person who comes through the door prior to the start of the Singleness of Purpose meeting (6:40-7:00pm).
No sobriety req.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT DISHWASHERS
Six-month term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for cleaning coffee cups and coffee pots after meeting.
No sobriety requirement

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SMOKING MONITOR
Six-month term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for keeping smokers clear of the church doorway, and for cleaning up cigarette debris after meeting is over.
No sobriety requirement

THURSDAY NIGHT GREETER (2 positions)
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for welcoming every person who comes through the door prior to the start of the meeting (6:40-7:00pm).
No sobriety req.

THURSDAY NIGHT REFRESHMENTS
Six month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for purchasing & preparing refreshments.  Coordinates with treasurer for reimbursement, purchases & replaces necessary equipment when needed.
Sobriety req. 6 months

FRIDAY NIGHT REFRESHMENT AND
BIRTHDAY COORDINATOR (2 positions)
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug)
Responsible for purchasing and preparing refreshments.  Coordinates with treasurer for reimbursement, purchases and replaces necessary equipment when needed. Birthday coordinator buys cupcakes, candles and prepares birthday cards (on clipboard) for AA birthdays.

FRIDAY NIGHT SET UP
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug & Sept-Feb)
Responsible for set up and take down of podium, plaque, etc. Coordinate cleanup.

FRIDAY NIGHT GREETER (2 positions)
Six-Month Term (Mar-Aug & Sept-Feb)
Responsible for welcoming every person who comes through the door prior to the meeting (7:40-8:00pm).
No sobriety req.
