Business Meeting

November 16, 2011

Opened meeting with Serenity Prayer. 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

• Treasurer — Melody*- Some of our checks we had written bounced because we had closed the old account before they were deposited. We made approx $1,000 in disbursements last month, leaving us with just over our prudent reserve of $500..

• GSR — Andy*-Alternate Janelle present tonight but had no report except that Andy will be going to the assembly. 

• Grapevine —Corey- Going well. Ordered 3 subscriptions, received one.

• EVI — Mark Z- Linda R is the new EVI chair. $900 was approved for holiday advertising.

• Diverter — Megan- Things are going well.

• Activities — Jenny, Tess B.-No report this month.

• Webmaster — Tim J.*- All secretaries need to find their meeting formats at trygodgroup.com and change the reading so that it says, “let’s have a moment of silence for the alcoholic who still suffers.”

• H&I — Danny- SERBU needs volunteers. Serenity Lane needs a group to bring a meeting in the 5^th Saturday of every month.

• Archivist — Siri V- Going well, nothing new to report.

SECRETARY REPORTS:

 • Sunday — Shelly*- Good attendance

• Monday — Mindy*- Good attendance. If you are a home group member, please bring your own big book, as there are not enough to go around. 

• Wed. Beg. — Susie*- Going well. Good attendance.

• Wednesday — Debi*- Kyle gave report. It’s going OK.

• Thursday — Tony*.- Great attendance, about 15 people show up.

• Friday —Angela and Karen* - Going well. Have speakers lined up.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Group inventory scheduled for Dec 3^rd but it looks like about 25% of members at business meeting will be unable to attend. Motion made to move the inventory to Jan or Feb. All but one voted to change. Minority spoke, saying “let’s keep it simple, stay on track, and don’t put things off.” No one wanted to change their vote, so the decision was made to move the inventory to January, or perhaps February.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Alexa is the set-up for Friday night and said that the coffee maker we have been using, which belongs to EVI has broken. There was a motion to buy a new one. The cost is about $130. The motion passed.

2. New member- Ginger

3. Someone asked a question regarding the format, wondering if there is a no crosstalk policy during the meeting. Yes was the response.

4. Motion made to have the group inventory once a year instead of every 6 months, as is our current policy. Person making the motion retracted it after someone said that they hoped we could talk about this issue at the group inventory.

5. Point of clarification- a motion has to be on the table to discuss anything.

6. A motion was made for our group to take the 5th Saturday Serenity Lane meeting position. Seconded. Discussion. H and I person could be responsible for finding speakers for it.  Motion passed. Danny will let them know we are available.

Motion to close was made and seconded.

Meeting closed at 9:00 pm with the "I am responsible" statement.
