Try God Group Business Meeting

July 20, 2011

Opened meeting with Serenity Prayer. 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

• Treasurer — Angela* | Have spent $75 so far on August picnic. Monthly income is approximately $700. Read balance sheet. Current balance  (307.28.–see report) 

• GSR — Andy* | No report.

• Grapevine —Adam | Has them.

• EVI — Lindsey B. |  EVI received donations from groups of $1800 in April, $1000 in May and $3200 in June. Two groups give more than Try God.  There was a theft of $25.  No complaints about our recent diverter performance.

• Diverter — Melody O. | Need to start sign up sheets for beyond September.

• Activities — Mindy S., Tess B. | BBQ picnic at Baker's Bay at Dorena Lake in Cottage Grove on August 13; group provides meats and condiments.

• Webmaster — Tim J.* | Web site is current. Service positions online for August elections.

• H&I — Alexa | Lots of service positions available.  May disband steering committee. Workshop to learn about H&I on August 20 at 4 pm at Washington Park.

• Archivist — Siri V. | Working through GSO workbook and other advice.  Ready to begin.  Would the group like to have an electronic archive?

SECRETARY REPORTS:

• Sunday — Lynn* | Need more people

• Monday — Debra* | Attendance down

• Wed. Beg. — Kevin B.* | Lindsey for Kevin: 5–7 people, 1-2 newcomers.

• Wednesday — Jenny S.* | Attendance down

• Thursday — Danny M.* | Gary for Danny: Meeting is good. Need more people. About 15 people

• Friday — Marilyn H.*, Tracy B.* | Marilyn: Going  well.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. Motion: Adopt policy defining what a closed meeting is regarding bringing children. Seconded.

Discussion. Vote. 26 for — 11 against. Motion fails lacking 2/3 majority. 

NEW BUSINESS:

2. Elect Chair until February elections: Tim J. - Unanimous

3. Elect Co-Chair until February elections: Ryan A.. - Unanimous

4. Elect Recording Secretary until February elections: Debra B.. - Unanimous

 5. Elect dishwashers for Wednesday meeting until February elections: Chris and Marsha. - Unanimous

6. Create a new position to create Newcomers Packets to be available for all meetings.  Seconded. Vote 25 for –0 against. Motion passes.  Joanne and Corey elected unanimously.

Motion to close. Seconded. 

Meeting closes at 9:00 pm with the "I am responsible."
