Try God Group Business Meeting
June 15, 2011
Opened meeting with Serenity Prayer.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
• Treasurer — Angela* | Read balance sheet. Current balance (378.00–see report)
• GSR — Andy* | Need alternate GSR.
• Grapevine —Adam | No report.
• EVI — Lindsey B. | deficit not as big as previously indicated, $1,500 shortfall, not 33% decline; activities and EVI co-chair position filled; archivist and three at-large positions available.
• Diverter — Melody O. | new diverter pack available, things are going well, people are signing up..
• Activities — Mindy S., Tess B. | BBQ picnic at Baker's Bay at Dorena Lake in Cottage Grove on August 13; group provides meats and condiments.
• Webmaster — Tim J.* | Web's working well, keeping it current.
• H&I — Alexa | H+I meets last Wednesday of every month at EVI, services positions are available (three member-at-large positions, co-coordinator of Sat. night Serenity Lane meeting (five year sobriety requirement)).
• Archivist — Siri V. | Contacting people over the sumer re: group history
SECRETARY REPORTS:
• Sunday — Lynn* | No report.
• Monday — Debra* | Going great, big and lovely.
• Wed. Beg. — Kevin B.* | Lindsey for Kevin: 5–9 newcomers, approximately three regulars each week; setting up literature table.
• Wednesday — Jenny S.* | Great!
• Thursday — Danny M.* | Corey for Danny: Need womens' support from Try God.
• Friday — Marilyn H.*, Tracy B.* | Marilyn: Going great.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Motion: change disbursement of funds to 60% for EVI, 20% to district, 10% to area, 10% to GSO (currently 50% EVI, 20% district, 20% area, 10% GSO): Seconded.
Discussion. Vote. 26 for — 5 against. Motion passes. Minority opinion is heard. Revote is called. 15 for — 20 against. Motion fails.
NEW BUSINESS:
2. Need to elect alternate GSR: Janelle elected.
3. Need to elect Wednesday Night cup washer: Kyle and Dan elected.
4. Motion: Change last Wednesday Night at Shari's on W. 11th to last Friday Night after the Friday night meeting: Richard seconds. Vote. 13 for – 13 against. Motion fails. Discussion indicates that it might work to just do both last Wednesday and Friday at Shari's.
5. Motion [Melody O.]: Motion to make Wednesday night diverter announcement at beginning of meeting, rather than during Acall for A.A. announcements. Seconded. Discussion. Vote: 29 for — 1 against. Passes.
6. Motion [Debra B.]: for TGG, define closed meeting to mean we don't allow school age children to be in attendance, and that secretary (with other group member) be responsible for telling parent(s) after meeting. Tabled until July.
7. Kyle announce he's filling in for Kirstin as at-large member.
Motion to close. Seconded.
Meeting closes at 9:00 pm with the "I am responsible."
